Description
Antique c1855-65 Woman’s Work Dress. The lot includes a woman’s work dress from the mid 19th century. The dress featured is an authentic work dress that is entirely handmade. The sleeves and hemline shows signs of occasional wear. There is wool tape trim at the bottom of the skirt, pleating at the front, and piping at the sleeve scythe. The bodice is lined and there is additional piping at the waist. The hooks are all original and in their original place for a closure at the back. There is additionally a pocket made from the same fabric as the lining of the dress. There is a sign of repair by the waist and some parts of the sleeves. It is in fair/poor condition.
