Description
2002 Amish Shirley Shenk Star Quilt measuring 86×96″. Medallion style quilt with a Lone Star in the center in various red prints against a solid white ground, and surrounded by plain print frames and an elaborately piece pyramid frame. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. Initials and the date 2002 is hand quilted in a border. Thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied red print binding with an additional flange embellishment. Included are 2 red print quilted throw pillow covers. All in very good condition. Excellent workmanship! Included is the original correspondence between Shirley and the customer including timing, color palette and cost of $1775. Pillow covers appear to have been about $50 each.
