Description
A group of three Edwardian hand-beaded purses from the early 20th century. The lot includes a 10.5 x 7 inch purse with colorful floral patterns and a 1.25-inch-long beaded fringe, featuring a hinged silver-plated kiss-lock closure, kid-skin leather lining, and a 16-inch chain handle. Also included is an 8 x 6.5 inch floral beaded purse with a looped fringe, an arched closure (possibly sterling) with a lever mechanism, a printed cotton lining, and a doubled round-link silver-tone chain. The third piece is a 10 x 5 inch oblong purse with purple floral beading, an elaborate scrolling closure believed to be sterling with a lever closure, a corded beige silk lining, and a round-link double chain handle. The purses are in good to fair condition with general age-related wear including bead loss, fringe loss, tassel loss, and shattered silk linings. Please see the photos for details.
