Description
Antique hand-painted two-sided folding fan with carved bone ribs featuring colorful floral inlay. Adorned with a carved tortoise shell element, a mother-of-pearl head with a rhinestone rivet, and a mermaid figure applique. The fan shows wear and tears on the leaf and minor discretion to the bone. Measures 11 1/4″ x 20″. Accompanied by a brocade-covered box, stamped inside with “Faucon Eventails Artistiques 38 Avenue De L’Opera Paris.” The box closure hardware is loose but included inside.
