8 Antique Single Pillow Cases and Covers. The lot includes 8, 19th century cotton and linen pillowcases and covers. Featuring a small square white cotton pillowcase with a ruffled edge and milky glass buttons. A square white cotton pillowcase with a central redwork embroidered poppy flower motif with “Good Night” across the center with a red/white embroidered trim and missing buttons. A square white linen pillow cover with red soutache embroidery in a leaf pattern with red embroidered eyelet trim. A square white cotton pillow cover featuring a large filet lace central medallion with 2 cherubs, a hand embroidered eyelet border, and cotton bobbin lace trim. A large square white cotton pillowcase with white soutache embroidered love birds in a wreath with machine cotton filet lace trim and milk glass button closures. A square white linen pillow cover with floral embroidery and extensive draw work borders. A rectangular white cotton pillow cover featuring white art nouveau floral embroidery with a WHS monogram. As well as rectangular fine white cotton pillow cover with needle lace floral medallions with cutwork accents at either end. The group is in fair condition with some pieces having missing or damaged buttons, spots, toning, tears, holes, a musty odor, and storage line discoloration. Please see the photos for details.
