Description
Vintage Pansy Quilt As Desired Quilt measuring 78 by 78 inches. It is comprised of 9 blocks, 24 by 24 inches, set straight, 3 by 3, with one inch solid green sashing and yellow cornerstones, and a 2 inch green border. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and professionally long arm machine quilted. Batting content is unknown. The backing is pieced and appears to be vintage textiles including fabric and towels. The edge is finished with and applied yellow fabric binding. The pansy flowers appear to have an extra layer of batting giving it a stuffed or raised trapunto look. It is in good condition with just a few small spots. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging. This quilt was part of Mary Kerr’s Quilt As Desired quilt project involving vintage quilt tops being sent to professional machine quilters to finish. The quilting is wonderful with undulating and scrolling feathers around the pansy flowers. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance.
