Description
Vintage Bicentennial Quilt – Embroidered Eagles measuring 72 by 90 inches. It is comprised of 12 blocks, 16.5 by 16.5 inches, set straight, 3 by 4, with 6 hand embroidered American Eagles in red white and blue embroidery thread, with 6 alternating red and white quarter square triangle blocks. They create a secondary star setting. There is a 4 inch white inner border, followed by a 3.5″ pieced blue and white half square triangle border, and a 4 inch solid white outer border. The dates 1776 to 1976 are hand embroidered in a border along the top. It is machine pieced, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. There is a medium loft batting and white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with red white and blue triangular prairie points along the perimeter. It is in good condition with just a few small spots. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging.
