Description
Antique PA Flying Geese Top, Newly Quilted by Bobbie Aug in 1999. We believe the top it to be c1880 and from PA based on the color combination. The quilt measures 49×61″. The quilting, backing and batting are newer. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt, and a label pinned to the reverse. In very good condition with just 2 small spots. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer, quilt store co-owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
