Description
Antique French Aubusson Wool/Silk Tapestry Fragment. The lot includes 1 large antique French silk and wool tapestry fragment featuring the right most side portion of a Roman scene. The fragment showcases a Caryatid column with a figure of a woman on top and a cupid at its base, there is also a small portion of a Roman soldier visible as well. It measures 3 yards 23” long by 24” wide and is in poor condition with heavy fading, loss of the silk embroidery, tears, splits, and missing portions. This piece is only viable for reference purposes. Please see the photos. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
