Description
Late 18th/Early 19th European Tapestry Fragment. The lot includes a possibly late 18th century or early 19th century wool and silk tapestry fragment featuring a central architectural medallion flanked on either side by swagged acanthus leaf garlands filled with various fruits. It measures 74” x 19” and is backed in a sage green ribbed cotton. The piece is in fair condition with fading, embroidery losses, toning, uneven color along the outer border, and various repairs throughout. Please see the photos.
