Description
2 Late 19th Century Black Wool Shawls. The lot includes 1 late 19th century black wool shawl featuring a large embroidered corner set on point with a mix of beautifully executed black embroidery. The embellishment features techniques such as basket weave, French knot, and more in a mix of floral and lace-like motifs. It is in poor condition with moth holes throughout and several tears. Also included is 1 late 19th century triangular black wool shawl featuring a rounded bottom, black floral embroidery, and a hand knotted fine black silk fringe. It is in fair/poor condition with several moth holes, and damage to the embroidery at the neck. Please see the photos for sizing and condition. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
