Description
Vintage c1930s Blue Work Hand Embroidered Quilt measuring 79 x 79 inches. It is comprised of 16 blocks, 16×16 inches, set straight, 4 by 4, with an 8 inch white border. It is machine pieced, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. The designs feature mostly floral motifs like tulips, calla lilies, roses, and more. The seam lines between the blocks are also hand embroidered in blue work feather stitching. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished knife edge style, by machine. It is in fair condition with very noticeable storage discolorations and dark spots. From the estate of Sharon Stark, noted Pennsylvania textile dealer and award winning author.
