Description
Antique c1860 Tulip Applique Quilt from a Spring Lake, NJ estate. It measures 87 by 95 inches. It is comprised of 42 blocks, 13 x 13 inches, set straight, 6 by 7, with a 5 inch white border with an appliquéd undulating vine and flower buds along 3 sides. The corner of each block has an appliqué crescent shape that creates a secondary Reel design. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished knife edge style, by machine. It is in fair condition with several small spots and the Turkey red print is starting to pop. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
