Group of 19th Century Quilt Fragments. The group includes 9 antique 19th century quilt fragments. 1 antique patchwork quilt top fragment measuring 62.5” x 29” and featuring a wide array of printed cotton fabrics. It is in fair condition with 1 large missing section and toning. 1 printed floral quilt border fragment measuring 11” x 41” featuring a heavily faded spiraling floral print. In fair/poor condition. 1 19th century chinoiserie print quilt fragment measuring 12” x 13” and featuring Asian bird cages and flowers. 5 19th century quilt blocks salvaged from a quilt featuring a mix of shirting, paisley, and more in an X pattern and ranging in size from 11” x 11.5” to 13” x 13”. They are in fair condition with some of the blocks having toning, discoloration, and spots. 1 possibly European burgundy whole cloth silk satin quilt fragment measuring 4 1/4” x 16” and in poor condition with shattering to all of the silk. Please see the photos. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
