Description
Sweet Basket Quilt from c1990, most likely by Bobbie Aug. It measures 55 x 55 inches. It is comprised of 9 basket blocks, 11 by 11 inches, set straight, 3 by 3, with a 2.5 inch blue print inner border, and a 7.5 inch solid pink outer border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and machine quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a pieced reverse. The edge is finished with a blue print applied binding. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging, with Bobby’s name. It is in good condition with no issues noted. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
