Description
New Applique Quilt Palm Trees by Jeanne Reed, 2006. It measures 53 x 53 inches. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a tan all over vining leaf print reverse. The edge is finished with an applied green batik binding with brown batik piping. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging and a label by the maker. It is in good condition with no issues noted. Notice that the palm tree leaves for all 4 trees appear to be one piece of fabric, cut like paper cut or Schrenschnitte technique. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
