Description
Mary Stori Quilt – Where Butterflies Play measures 40×40″. This was an original design made for the Pilgrim/Roy 2006 Challenge. It is machine appliqued, machine pieced, and machine quilted. The butterflies are hand beaded in author, instructor, and textile quilt artist Mary Stori’s signature style. The colorful striped binding has hand bead “picots” along the edge. The quilt has a sleeve for hanging, and a label on a back corner. It is in very good condition. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
