Description
Antique Crown of Thorns Quilt Top was Hand Quilted and Finished in 1997. It measures 67 x 82 inches. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton/poly batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an indigo print applied binding. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging. A label on the bottom corner states “Owner: Bobby Aug Colorado Springs Colorado. Top made into a quilt 1997 by Caroline Peterson Atwood, KS; quilted by Dorothy Vice Beaver City, NE – 1997”. It is in good condition with a few small spots. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
