Description
Ohio Star quilt measuring 83 by 99 inches. There are 42 antique c1900 Ohio Star blocks, 10 x 10 inches, set on point, 6 by 7, with a reproduction indigo print setting squares and triangles, and a 5 inch wide reproduction shirting print border. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. The batting feels like a cotton/poly, and the reverse is a reproduction shirting print. The edge is finished with an indigo print applied binding. I believe the quilt was hand quilted and finished by Bobby Aug. It is in good condition with some small spots and discolorations in the quilt blocks. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
