Description
Vintage c1940 Flower Basket Quilt, rare pattern! Measures 73 by 85 inches. It is comprised of 49 flower basket blocks, 9 by 9 inches, set on point and staggered, 4 by 11, with partial block setting triangles, 1.25 inch orange sashing, and brown cornerstones. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an orange solid reverse. The edge is finished with an applied solid orange binding. It is in very good condition with no issues noted. There is a sleeve along the top edge on the back for hanging. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
