Description
Vintage c1930 Double Wedding Ring Quilt measuring 77×90″. It is comprised of 42 interlocking solid purple rings with pink and green intersecting blocks, against a tan ground. The fabrics appear to be polished cotton or sateen. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. This cotton batting and tan reverse. The edge is finished with a tan applied binding. It is in very good condition with just a few small spots. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt. This quilt can be seen on page 22 of “Antique Quilts & Textiles” co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
