Description
Vintage c1940s Double Wedding Ring Quilt in Bright Solid Fabrics measuring 76 by 93 inches. It is comprised of 63 interlocking wedding rings about 12.5 inches in diameter, set straight, 7 by 9, with a bright pink border 6.5 inches wide. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by machine. It is in good condition with just a few small spots. There is a sleeve attached to the back along the top of the quilt and signed by Bobbie Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
