Group of 3 Antique 19th and Early 20th Century Textile Swatch Books-Silks, Cottons, and more. The group includes approximately 685 antique and vintage c1890-1940 self-assembled Textile Swatchbooks in a mix of silks, cottons, ethnic, metallic, and more. A book of 1890 silk plaids. A book of 1890-1920 Jacquards, Prints, Textures, knits, Floral jacquards, Hand painted German with Silver Threads, German white on whites and much more. And a book of 1890-1930 Textures, Solids, in Silk, velvet and cotton. The books are in fair condition with brittle spines and pages. The samples are in good/fair condition with some of the thinner silks having glue stains. This Textile Swatch Books collection was the property from a well known NYC textile and garment design archive which provided design and concept inspiration to fashion and textile designers around the world for more than 25 years.
