2 Antique 19th and Early 20th Century Textile Swatch Books-Wool Challis. The pairing includes 2 self-assembled vintage Textile Swatchbooks containing approximately 224 samples in a mix of antique and vintage plaids, satin, printed wool challis and delaines. There are wool Scotch Plaids, velvet cottons from 1900-1930. The other sample books has wool challis from 1845 prints, foulants, paisleys, and more from 1845-1880 and are in good condition, the books are in fair/poor condition with one missing its covers and yellowed pages. Many Prussian Blue and Prussian Green wool prints. This Textile Swatch Books collection was the property from a well known NYC textile and garment design archive which provided design and concept inspiration to fashion and textile designers around the world for more than 25 years.
