Description
Vintage 1930s Economy Block Quilt with several Juvenile or Novelty Fabrics. It measures 68 x 68 inches. It is comprised of 25 economy blocks, 10 x 10 inches, set straight, 5 by 5, with a 1.75 inch green teddy bear print sashing and inner border, followed by a 1.5 inch blue teddy bear print border, followed by a 1.5 inch red puppy dog border. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and a sweet figural red on aqua print reverse featuring little girls with baskets and animals. The edge is finished knife edge style, by hand. It is in good condition with a few small spots. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon’s Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
